Six years ago, Lawrence L Deacon was uncertain about his future as a graphic designer after dropping out of the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts. As Delawness, he recently launched Introspeq , a concept that expresses his passion for the arts, music and fashion.

When artist Andy Warhol began hanging out with stars like Michael Jackson and Grace Jones at Studio 54 in the late 1970’s, he became a pop icon. Jamaican Lawrence L. Deacon is also rubbing shoulders with reggae’s in-crowd to help put his, and their creations, on the map.

POP culture and graphic designers are kindred spirits. Jimi Hendrix and the Grateful Dead had Ed Thrasher; Andy Warhol wowed the Studio 54 crowd.

Not as exalted, graphic artist Lawrence Deacon has etched his way into contemporary reggae, designing several posters and album covers for top artistes like Chronixx and Grammy winner Koffee.

Since the announcement of the collaboration between Delawness and Carib Voxx on June 18, the partnership has now reached its first phase. The public will now be fully immersed in the experience of this collaboration. The collaboration is titled ‘Boyante’, which means “to stay afloat and rise above your challenges”.
